The African Development Bank (the Bank) is very active in supporting its Regional Member Countries (RMCs) on fragility issues. The Bank's support is anchored in its 2014-2019 Strategy to address fragility and strengthen resilience in Africa. The Strategy is based on three priority objectives, namely (i) strengthening state capacity and supporting effective institutions, (ii) promoting resilient societies through inclusive and equitable access to employment, basic services and the shared benefits of natural resource endowments, and (iii) strengthening the Bank's advocacy role for deeper policy dialogue, partnerships and advocacy on fragility issues. The Transition State Coordination Office (RDTS) was established with a mandate to implement the strategy by supporting RMCs in transition to identify and address fragility factors, build resilience and accelerate growth. |
