Road Construction Civil Works, upgrading the current 2- lane single carriageway road to 2- lane dual carriageway of the Kenol- Sagana- Marua (84 km) road substantially Lot 1 Dualling of Kenol- Sagana (48Km approx) & Lot 2 Dualling of Sagana- Marua (36 Km approx) the existing alignment The civil works include construction of five bridges, drainage structures, two grade separated junctions, foot over bridges, installation of road safety features, environmental & social mitigation measures & social complementary activities.
Consulting Services, i) Construction supervision services for the road civil works, ii) Project technical audit, iii) Sensitization & awareness on HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, gender, economic empowerment, drug abuse & road safety, iv) Baseline survey & monitoring of environmental & social issues, v) Design studies of pipeline projects (access to Thika town, sections from Thika to Kenol & Marua to Nyeri).
Purchase of the specialized equipment for the proposed Sagana Trauma Center.
Capacity Building & Training, i) Training of unemployed youth along the project corridor, ii) Training of staff of the executing agency, iii) Road safety study.
