Tenders are invited for Incline conveyor counter weight modification at hendrina power station
The scope entails: •the contractor compiles and provides a comprehensive method statement and the employer to approve prior commencing with works (taking into account the production risk assessment as provided by the employer). •the contractor designs and installs correct electric winch to lift and lower the loads in the plant (the hoists to be able lift a minimum weight of 4 tons).•the contractor fabricate the brackets of the electric winches•the contractor installs the brackets on to the existing structure of the counter weight•the contractor installs the electric winch (drum, Shaft, Bearings, Couplings, Wire ropes, Gearbox and motor) on to the brackets•the contractor installs new sheave wheels for the wire ropes on top of the c-channel•the contractor produces the general arrangement drawing of electric winch•the contractor produces the detailed manufacturing drawing of the electric winch•the contractor submits the detailed design report of electric winch with design calculations, General arrangement drawing and detailed manufacturing drawing to the employer for approval prior to fabrication.•the contractor specifies and installs sheave wheels, Brackets and slings for electric winch.•the contractor provides and installs control panels, Cabling etc for lifting as well as lowering the weights.•the existing switchgear room next to the drive houses to be used as a supply for the electric winch.•the contractor supplies the quality control plan and this to be approved by the employer prior commencement with the works. •the contractor provides ecsa certificates for mechanical professional engineers•the contractor ensures there’s a permit to work before any work commences and regulations as per employer’s psr are adhered to regarding conveyor belts.•the works to be performed in such a way that no coal spillages as well as fires occur during the installation.•the installation to be in such a way that the surrounding belt components are not damaged. •the contractor provides all equipment necessary to execute work.•the contractor performs ndt testing to be done on all welds and the data pack to be provided thereof.•the data pack to include maintenance manual, Operating manual, Drawings, Material specifications, Ndt results, Load testing results and material certificates.•the contractor is responsible for accuracy of fabrication and erection fit-up.
