General procurement notice for Acquisition of Rolling Stock, It and Peri-it Equipment and Consumables, Furniture, Miscellaneous Equipment, Office Supplies for the Burkinabè Agency for Rural Electrification (Aber)
Component 1 : Rural electrification
This component will increase access to electricity services in rural areas through sustainable rural electrification. Specifically, this component aims to (i) increase access to electricity services in about 300 selected rural localities, to connect about 120,000 households, community infrastructure and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), while (ii) mobilizing private investment in the development and operation of green and hybrid mini-grids.
Burkina Faso has obtained financing from the World Bank in the amount of USD 607.75 million distributed as follows: IDA: USD 75 million, Clean Technology Fund (CTF): USD 93 million, Global Infrastructure Fund (GIF): USD 0.7 million and Private sector: an expected amount of USD 439 million to improve access to electricity services in certain rural areas, ensure the availability of solar energy in Burkina Faso and mobilize private financing.
