ESSOR is entering its maturity phase (30 years) and, thanks to the progress made, now has know-how, methodologies and skills recognized by numerous technical players and development financiers. In this context and through this program, ESSOR wishes to put in place the necessary means to enable other actors to take advantage of its recognized methodologies. This is the third phase of actions for the agricultural sector within the framework of multi-country projects, which follows multicountry 2 Agri Challenge , and which concerns Mozambique, GuineaBissau and Congo . In Guinea-Bissau, the Nô Baloura Labor Na Bissau project financed as part of the Ianda Guiné Hortas (SAB) program supported by the European Union, co-financed the multi-country 2 Défiagri and co-finances the multi- ACTA country. This project made it possible to launch the first cycles of participatory agricultural training in the area from 2020. In these 3 countries, the peri-urban areas of large cities have strong agricultural potential hampered by common problems: insufficient training and resources; excessive and uncontrolled use of chemicals harmful to the environment and health safety; difficulties in accessing quality inputs; land pressure; fertility problems; difficulties in valorizing and accessing markets for local products compared to imported products, etc. However, increasing agricultural productivity is one of the priorities of the governments of these 3 countries in order to achieve food selfsufficiency and nutritional quality , even as populations continue to grow and the effects of climate change negatively impact agriculture and threaten food security.
